Just listening to a rebroadcast of Diane Rehm's '09 interview with the late Andy Williams. He could really sing -- I never was aware of him as a singer, too young [cough] to have grown up listening to him. He asked Rehm, in a nice matter-of-fact way, whether she had read his book -- I loved that. Wouldn't it be great if someone had the cojones to ask Charlie Rose whether he had read the book about which he was conducting an interview? (I don't have a working TV at the moment and haven't watched the Rose show in a long time.); January 1, 2013 at 11:55 AM

LFC said...: p.s. for the record, I of course know of I.F. Stone's Weekly but I don't think I ever read it. I think some of the best parts were subsequently collected in books (?).
