Noted

David McNally at New Politics (Jan. 30; link) mentions the new Greek government's decision to end its "military cooperation with Israel...if the blockade of Gaza is not lifted."  I wonder what Greece's "military cooperation with Israel" consisted of.  Not that this move will have any effect on Israeli policy, though it's laudable anyway.

I'd assume extensive enough. Israel has tried to build relationships with the non Arab countries in the 'region' (which extends to eastern med) particularly since the Turkish relationship went south. Also there's a bit of gas off Israel/Lebanon/Cyprus that theyre arguing over ownership.
I couldnt go into any specifics whatsoever, but afaik theyre quite commited to building a positive relationship with Greece.

..That doesnt really speak to your question though (btw, forgot to respond in thread re Tooze. I'll drop a note in comments when done, for sure. Bear in mind Ive turned into a very slow lazy reader though ..rarely finishing anything, going in and out of different books. I want to read the Tooze book through though, so will see how it goes)

So this move by Greece could have some effect on Israeli policy re Gaza? (Btw I recall seeing something about natural gas off Cyprus.)

Was getting ready to put up something longer on M.E. when I saw your comments above. But given the hour here, I think I'll save it for tomorrow aft. or eve.

Perhaps some, but not much I wouldnt think. (A pro Palestinian leftist Greek government might be a headache to Israel at most, id guess).
Policy in Europe in general is becoming more hostile to Israeli policy though.(Recognition of Palestinian statehood in Euro Parliaments, sanctions against goods produced in the occupied territories etc.) I dont follow it closely enough to speak confidentally to the specifics or know what it all adds up to , though I would speculate it wont do much to change Israeli policy.

To your *specific* question in the OP though (which I didnt really respond to) i dont know about the military cooperation aspect specifically.

I would assume it was perhaps occasional joint exercises, training, joint consultations, etc. That is what "military cooperation" often is. (But I don't know, obvs., since i asked.)
