Saudi Arabia's border wall

Via Pub Editor, an item about the wall Saudi Arabia is building on its border with Iraq.  Wendy Brown, a political theorist at Berkeley, wrote a book several years ago on the wall-building trend: Walled States, Waning Sovereignty (2010; Zone Books paperback, 2014).  Happen to own the book but haven't really read it.

Off topic(if you dont mind), but have you read Adam Tooze's new book yet ? (or Anderson if he's reading)
Interested to see what either of you think (Ive read bits and pieces but am sitting down now to read the whole thing properly, hopefully)

No, I haven't even looked at it. I think Anderson might have, not sure.

When you've finished, let me know what you think. Just drop a comment into any post, it doesn't matter (I'm serious; it's not like thousands of people are coming here every day, or even hundreds...) But that's b.c I have such integrity i refuse to put up posts w the word s*x in the title to draw traffic ;).

I can't even keep up w the interesting bk reviews I run across (e.g., one by S. Moyn in the current issue of Dissent).

Thanks for the link! I may have to check out Brown's book.

Actually I tend to think Wendy Brown's book would not hold great appeal for you -- i.e., it's a little too much the work of a pol. theorist of a certain sort, is my impression. (On the other hand, it is quite short, which is always a plus.) I know the first sentence is vague -- I'm really zonked right now for reasons it would take too long to explain...

Have a good weekend, pubeditor, and anyone else who may be reading.
